Synonyms: Tri tolyl phosphate, Tris(2-methylphenyl) phosphate
TCP is a mixture of three isomeric organophosphate compounds the ortho and meta isomers are liquids, while the para isomer is a crystalline solid. These are most notably used as a flame retardant. It is virtually insoluble in water, but easily soluble in organic solvents like toluene, hexane, and diethyl ether among others.
